The Vermont Arts Council is partnering with the Agency of Agriculture to provide entertainment at the 2010 Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA, September 17-October 3. The Big E is New England’s largest fair, a 17-day extravaganza with top entertainment, shopping, agriculture, animals, a daily parade and lots and lots of food. The Vermont Building hosts as many as 140,000 visitors a day and is a great place to showcase Vermont talent.
The Arts Council is seeking performing artists for weekend performances. Shows are tentatively scheduled for Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Performance fees range from $500 to $1,000. Artists are responsible for their own travel and for providing sound equipment for their performance. Arts Council staff will be available to assist with product sales throughout the festival.
