The purpose of the Vermont Teaching Artist Roster is to provide a resource to schools, arts organizations, and other community groups and to enhance potential employment opportunities to Vermont teaching artists. Roster artists have been evaluated and designated as both high quality practicing artists and experienced teachers in their respective artistic disciplines. These artists have been called upon to work in a variety of traditional and non-traditional settings. Teaching artists may be selected for projects through the Council's Teaching Artist Residency and Teaching Artist Express grant programs, and are also a resource for projects independent of Council programs.
Although each listing includes a brief description of the teaching artist(s) and their work, the best way to learn more about their programs and offerings is to contact them directly. We also encourage you to contact references provided by the teaching artists.
Important Note: The Vermont Arts Council does not conduct criminal background checks as a part of its jury process. Organizations and schools wishing to hire artists from the Teaching Arts Roster should follow their own policies and conduct their own required procedures just as they would in any hiring decision.
The individuals and organizations linked below are current Teaching Artist Roster artists. (Note: We are in the process of updating our online “Arts Directory” and so you will see that artists in this list are still referenced as “Juried Education” artists in their listings. We hope to have this updated soon.)
